Susan Hale had a painting accepted into a national
juried show-“The Contemporary View: Midwest Landscapes”
at the Dumont Gallery in Indianapolis, Indiana. the show will
run June 6 - July 26.
Connie Glowacki will be opening a gallery July
1st at The Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek this summer.
It’s title is: Connie Glowacki- Artist, “Watercolors
with Spirit”. Glowacki plans to paint by the front window
into the gallery, so people interested will be motivated to come
in.
Two of Michele Missner’s paintings, were
juried into the Secura Annual Art Exhibit, and one won an honorable
mention. She also had a painting juried into the 46th Annual Juried
Exhibition at the Francis Hardy Gallery in Ephraim. That piece was
selected for a juror’s award.
Kay Brathol-Hostvet has two upcoming solo shows:
pastel landscapes at Artisan Gallery, Paoli, Wisconsin from August
8 through September 14 with an opening on August 8 from 5:00-9:00
pm, and a show of pastel and acrylic paintings exploring Mississippi
River Valley themes at BNOX Gold & Iron, Pepin, Wisconsin from
September 13 through November 16; opening/meet the artist is October
3-5 during the Fall Colors Tour.
Marie App has a painting accepted into the 2008
Culture and Agriculture show at New Visions Gallery in Marshfield.
The exhibit runs from July 13-Sept. 6. She also had a linocut accepted
in the 2008 Print Exchange at Eastern Oregon University, Le Grande
OR. She will be showing watercolors at Charlene’s Gallery
10 in Elison Bay, Door County. The theme of the Sept 20 - Oct 24
Show is “Women Extraordinaire.” The reception will be
Sept. 20 3-5 pm.
One of Tom Eddington’s wood sculptures was
purchased by the Wilson center for the Arts bridge committee for
the 2008 Eddy award - a yearly award given to an area Arts organization
to recognize significant contributions in the field of Art
education.
Sally Berner has 2 oil paintings in Paws and Reflect:
the Art of Canines at the Bergstrom-Mahler Art Museum in Neenah,
which runs through July 27. This exhibition features 30 artists
in a variety of mediums and travels to 10 different venues over
the next 2 years. Berner’s painting is featured on the
poster for all locations. Sally Berner is featured in
a 3 person Artists’ Registry Exhibition at the Museum of the
Dog in St. Louis, MO. The show opens June 2nd and runs
through August 31st. Berner has 11 oil paintings in the exhibit.
Elaine Daily-Birnbaum recently received the Clara
Stroud Memorial award from the American Watercolor Society. She
also was was designated as a Dolphin Fellow of the AWS. Additonally,
she received the 3rd place award in the Northwest Watercolor Society
Annual Exhibition, a show award in the Georgia Watercolor Society
Annual Exhibition, and Honorable Mention in the Hilton Head Art
League All Media National Exhibition.
Fabricated Realms will be at the Overture Center. This is a four
person show featuring WP&S members Mark and Anita Nelson.
This show also features Ed and Lisa Binkley. Mark will exhibit
pencil drawings and computer generated art works. Anita will have
a series of acrylic paintings. Ed Binkley will exhibit computer
generated works and his wife Lisa will display fabric art. The show
will be on display June 21 through September 14. Located in
the First Floor Gallery.
