| An Award of Excellence was recently earned by Patrice Herbst for her jewel-toned oil still life “Purple Cloth” in the League of Milwaukee Artists Summer Juried Exhibit held at Gallery 110 in Plymouth, Wisconsin. The show was juried by Mike Brenner, owner of Hotcakes Gallery in Milwaukee and a member of the Milwaukee Arts Board, and Dara Larson, associate professor of art at Alverno College. The award will be presented at the opening reception August 12, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00pm. The exhibit is in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Plymouth Jazz Crawl. Another piece by Patrice titled “Plums and Silver Dollars” was also juried into the show, both pieces display the artist’s interest in deep shadows and luminous highlights, a distinct hallmark of her work. | |
